Overview

The TN HWY 45 Bridges over the Cumberland River are known as the Old Hickory Bridges. The north bound (west bound) bridge is far more interesting of the two since it is older and more ornate than the newer south bound (east bound) bridge. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the Old Hickory Bridge (north) are the "Sentry Towers" which adorn each end of the bridge.
