Overview: Abandoned two-span through truss bridge over Black River near Hendrickson
Location: Butler County, Missouri
Status: Abandoned and overgrown with kudzu, but reachable on foot
History: Built 1933-34 as part of a realignment of US 67. Closed in 1965 when a section collapsed after being hit by a truck; was reopened in 29 days. Replacement bridge built 1976.
Design: North span: Riveted, skewed, 9-panel Parker through truss, length 162 feet
Main span: Riveted, skewed, 11-panel Parker through truss, length 202 feet
Original south span: Riveted, skewed, 9-panel Parker through truss, length 162 feet, destroyed in 1965
Current south approach: Four steel stringer spans, total length 162 feet, built 1965
Dimensions: Length of largest span: 202.0 ft.
Total length: 525.8 ft.
