We live at the Lake of the Ozarks at the 66 mile marker. Several years ago we were traveling up the lake past the 72mm (near Cardinal Cove) when we noticed an odd stone, fence-like structure in the middle of a bluff. It seemed out of place as it didn't appear to "go anywhere" and ended where the bluff fell away. We were told later by a local resident that the structure was all that was left of a suspension bridge that used to span the Osage River before Bagnell Dam was built. The structure is still visible today. It appears to be made of concrete and stone.
