Facts

Overview
Lost Arch bridge over Black River on Comstock Road in Town of Grant
Location
Town of Grant, St. Clair County, Michigan
Status
Replaced by new bridge
History
Built 1923; Replaced 1996
Builder
- Peacock Construction Co.
Design
"This bridge is one of very few examples of a cast-in-place concrete closed spandrel (non-filled) deck arch structure found in Michigan. The attention to cosmetic detail (such as the precast concrete balusters) makes it even more interesting. It sits in a very serene setting in the middle of the Port Huron State Game Area. Today, it is very important as a link in the east/west County Primary Road System."
