Built in 1927 as part of the Pacific Highway (U.S. 99) abandoned when I-5 was constructed through the area.

Design
Harlan D. Miller was the California State Bridge 1924 until his untimely death in 1926. During his short tenure as state bridge engineer he made radical changes to the way California designed bridges and paved the way for the design of some famous spans of the 1930’s.
The California Division of Highways dedicated the Dog Creek Bridge in honor of Miller while he was ill prior to his death. The bridge was constructed after Miller’s death in 1927.
